Women’s Basketball to Host Holy Cross Today

HAMILTON, N.Y. (1/28/09) -   The Colgate women's basketball team will host conference foe Holy Cross on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Cotterell Court.  

 

Today's meeting will mark the 41st game between the two teams.  The Crusaders currently hold a 37-3 advantage in the all-time series against Colgate.  Holy Cross won both meetings last season, including a 63-53 victory at Cotterell Court on Feb. 27.

 

Live video of the game can be seen through the Patriot League All-Access pass on the Patriot League web site.  The game will also be heard locally on WKXZ, 94 FM and 99.3 FM.  Live stats will also be available through the Colgate Athletics web site.

 

The Raiders are led offensively by sophomores Tayler Wejnert (Ramsey, N.J.) and Sami Kozlowski (New Market, Md.).  Wejnert is averaging 10.6 points per game, while Kozlowski is putting in 9.8 point per game and leads the team with 59 assists.  Freshman Tricia Oakes (Evergreen, Colo.) and sophomore Georgia Gier (Mercer Island, Wash.) lead the team in rebounds averaging 6.4 and 6.2, respectively.  

 

Junior Briana McFadden, the Patriot League Pre-season Player of the Year, leads the Crusaders in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.2 points and 4.9 boards per game.  Classmate Bethany O'Dell follows with 11.6 points per game and tops Holy Cross in steals with 31 on the year.
