HAMILTON, N.Y. (1/23/09) – Colgate University's All-America tackle Nick Hennessey (Danvers, MA) will play in the 3rd annual Texas vs. the Nation Collegiate All-Star Bowl on Saturday, January 31 at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas. Kickoff is 1 p.m. MT, and the game will be televised by CBS College Sports (CSTV).
Hennessey, who became the first Patriot League player since 2004 to earn consenus All-America honors, will play for the Nation squad which is coached by Howard Schnellenberger.
During this past season, Hennessey was named to the four major All-America teams: Walter Camp, Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association and The Sports Network. He was also named to the College Sporting News Fabulous Fifty All-Star and ECAC All-Star teams.
Hennessey led an offensive unit that finished fifth in rushing offense with 267.67 yards per game and 12th in total offense with 416.5 yards per game. He started 34 straight games for the Raiders.
