Dan O’Connor joined the Colgate staff as a volunteer assistant coach in August 2017. O’Connor will assist with video and statistical analysis, video scouting, running drills and managerial duties.
“We are very excited to add Dan to our staff,” said Baker. “Besides having a strong playing career, Dan brings a very unique set of skills to our program. By day, Dan is a computer software engineer so he is going to help us tremendously when it comes to the analytics of the game. We truly feel that our scouting is about to go to a whole new level with him on staff.”
O’Connor currently works as a software engineer computer scientist at ANDRO Computational Solutions and will bring his use of statistical analysis to the Raider coaching staff in order to recognize team strengths and exploit weaknesses.
O’Connor put together a four-year career as both an outside hitter and libero at SUNY Polytechnic Institute. He played a key role in a young program that won its first-ever NEAC Championship in 2014. O’Connor tallied 304 kills and 639 digs throughout his career at SUNYIT.
O’Connor graduated from SUNYIT in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in computer and information science.
