Cristina Pintilie is in her second season as an assistant coach at Colgate. She assists Baker in all aspects of the program.
Pintilie was instrumental in the Raiders’ run to the championship match in 2007. She helped the Raider defense register the fifth-most blocks in program history, while the offense flourished with the second-most kills all-time.
Pintilie joined the Raiders after spending two seasons as a graduate assistant at Troy University in Troy, Ala. During her two years at Troy the Trojans compiled an overall record of 19-38 and a 6-24 mark in the Sun Belt Conference. While with the Trojans, Pintilie’s duties included assisting with the day-to-day operations of the program, coordinating team travel and equipment, and working with the summer camps program.
Prior to working at Troy, Pintilie played three years of volleyball at Long Island University. A middle blocker, Cristina was selected as the team’s most valuable player in both 2002 and 2003 and earned numerous Northeast Conference player of the week awards. She also earned all-NEC honors and in 2003 she finished ranked fourth nationally in kills per game.
Pintilie was an integral part of the LIU team that won the Northeast Conference in 2004 to advance to the NCAA tournament. She was named the NEC tourney MVP and named all-Northeast Conference first team as a senior.
A native of Romania, Pintilie graduated from the Arnold and Marie Schwartz School of Sports Sciences at LIU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Adapted Physical Education in 2005. She completed her Master of Science degree in Sport and Fitness Management at Troy in the spring of 2007.
