Head men and women’s tennis coach Bobby Pennington announced the hiring of Rose Ketmayura-Hanson as assistant coach in August 2006.

A native of Austin, Texas, Ketmayura-Hanson spent the summer of 2006 as a tennis instructor at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Marble Falls, Texas. There she assisted the director with camps, clinics and group lessons.

She has also worked at Lakecliff Racquet Club (Spicewood, Texas), Prairie Life Center (Lincoln, Neb.) and at public tennis courts (Austin, Texas) as a tennis instructor. She gave private lessons, group lessons and clinics to children, teens and adults.

Ketmayura-Hanson earned a degree in international business from the University of Nebraska in 2005 where she was a four-year letterwinner on the Huskers’ women’s tennis team.

She was one of the Huskers’ top doubles player and was also a steady contributor in the bottom half of the singles lineup. For her career she posted a 37-32 record in spring singles and a 41-45 record in spring doubles.

In her final season, Ketmayura-Hanson posted a 10-11 record at No. 1 doubles and a 5-6 record in singles playing at Nos. 3 and 4 singles. During her junior season she posted a 10-12 record at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles and went 8-12 at Nos. 2, 3 and 4 singles. In her sophomore campaign, Ketmayura-Hanson went 12-7 at No. 1 doubles and 10-10 at No. 5 singles and was equally impressive during her rookie season when she posted a 9-15 doubles record and 14-4 singles record.

Ketmayura-Hanson is currently pursuing her master’s degree in strategic intelligence from the American Military University. She’s married to Clint Hanson, a staff sergeant in the United States Army Aviation, who is pursuing an industrial engineering degree from the University of Nebraska.
