Jordan Rucks was named Assistant Coach of Colgate Men's and Women's Tennis in September 2018.

Rucks comes to Hamilton after she served as the Interim Head Coach for the University of Rhode Island for one season. This came after she completed a four-year career with the Rams, which was highlighted by a two-year stint as team captain and a trio of Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll awards. She was a mainstay in both the singles and doubles lineups at URI and ended her career with a combined 42 match victories.

"I am so excited and honored to continue my coaching career as the assistant coach for the men's and women's tennis teams at Colgate," said Rucks. "While at the University of Rhode Island, I was able to experience the demands of being both a student-athlete and coach for a division I program. I plan to use my experience from Rhode Island to help these athletes here at Colgate achieve their goals. I am ready to see what we can become."

Rucks helped coach Scott Bickel in her first season during the 2018-19 campaign, who earned All-Patriot League First Team honors. It was the fourth straight season that a Raider had earned the honor. She also helped both the men's and women's teams reach the Patriot League quarterfinal round.

In a shortened 2019-20 season, Rucks helped lead a turnaround for both the men and women. In just ten outings, the men matched their win total of seven from the previous spring while the women surpassed last year's total with room to spare in just nine matches. En route to a 7-2 record, the women defeated four teams they'd lost to just a year ago.

Before her time with the Rams, she was a coach with the International Tennis Academy in Port Saint Lucie, Fla. While in the Sunshine State, she worked with players ages 5-18 and helped players identify long and short term goals and also helped organize tournament schedules.

"I am beyond excited and pumped to welcome Jordan Rucks to the Colgate Tennis Family," said Colgate Men's and Women's Tennis Head Coach Bobby Pennington. "I love the fact she has Division I head coach experience at Rhode Island. She has a very upbeat, energetic personality and style that should fit in with our culture."

The Florida native graduated with a degree in Kinesiology from URI in 2017.
