Associate Athletic Director for Health Performance Steve Chouinard announced the addition of Morgan Gillis, MS, ATC to the staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in July 2019. Gillis will be working with the women’s soccer and women’s lacrosse programs at Colgate.
Gillis joins the Raiders after spending the 2018-19 seasons at Brown University, where she was an intern athletic trainer working with the women’s rugby, fencing, volleyball, and track & field programs.
“We are excited for Morgan to join our staff. She understands how to help student athletes in all aspects of care,” Director of Sports Medicine Leslie Cowen said of Gillis. “She’s had some great experiences at her previous schools and we know that she will be a great fit her respective teams and the entire athletic department!”
While furthering her education, Gillis also worked as the head athletic trainer at Gainesville and Fort White High Schools in Florida where she was the sole healthcare provider for the athletic programs.
"I am excited to work with such a fantastic staff and a hardworking group of athletes,” Gillis said. “Colgate has a strong sense of community, with all departments working closely together. I have felt so welcomed since arriving on campus. I look forward to providing the best possible care for student athletes."
Gillis earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training at the University of New Hampshire in 2016, prior to completing a Master of Science in Applied Physiology & Kinesiology from the University of Florida in 2018.
