Jones is the newest member of the women's ice hockey staff. A 2005 graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Jones was named the Hockey East co-Player of the Year and was also named to the New England Hockey Writers Women’s Division I All-Star team this past year. She earned the team’s MVP award, the Karyn Bye Award, and was also the recipient of the Fan Favorite Award during her senior year.
The Kimberely, B.C. native captained the women’s ice hockey squad her senior year and led UNH in goals (23) and was 18th in the nation in goals per game (0.68). She also led the team in game-winning goals (5) and power-play goals (7).
The two-time Hockey East First Team all-star is also a member of the UNH Century Club with 142 career points. Playing in 142 games, Jones netted 78 goals and 64 assists, averaging one point in every game played in four years.
Jones led the team in points her freshman and sophomore season, making her the first player since Brandy Fisher (1997-98) to lead the team in goals in consecutive seasons and lead the team in a rookie campaign. Her efforts earned her a spot on the ECAC Eastern League All-Rookie Team and she was named the team's Rookie of the Year.
A participant in the 2003 Canada U-22 National Development Camp, Jones was also named the female hockey Athlete of the Year in British Columbia three years earlier after a tremendous career (289-271-560 in 164 GP) at Selkirk Academy.
