Meghan Romero was named an assistant softball coach in August 2019.
Romero '19 makes her way back to Colgate after a successful career in the Maroon and White from 2015-2019. she earned Patriot League First Team At-Large honors after batting .325 with 51 hits, including 15 doubles and three home runs.

A spark in the middle of the lineup, Romero's 15 doubles were just three shy from tying the single-season record. She posted 17 multi-hit performances in 2019, including six games with at least three hits, and registered seven games with at least two RBIs.

In conference play her senior season, Romero led the team in batting with a .308 clip to go with a .410 on-base percentage and .500 slugging. She logged four doubles, two home runs, eight RBIs and nine runs scored to lead the Raiders offensively.
Romero helped Colgate’s offense jump from a .245 batting average to .283 in 2021, good for third-best in the Patriot League. The Raiders led the Patriot League for the third consecutive year in home runs with 26 and ranked third in hits (231), doubles (54), walks (69), and runs (134).

The 2021 season also saw Colgate post its most conference wins (13) since securing the regular season title with 16 in 2011. The Raiders advanced to their second consecutive Patriot League tournament behind a 16-15-1 overall record, their second straight winning season.

During her first season as an assistant coach, Romero helped lead Colgate to its best 15-game start with a 10-5 mark. The Raiders finished 12-8 overall before the season was cut short.

The Redondo Beach, Calif., native wrapped up her Colgate career with a .249 batting average (101-for-406) and .341 on-base percentage in 167 games played. She graduated with a degree in educational studies and was a two-time selection on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
