Jim Ciccone is in his 13th season as an assistant softball coach with the Colgate program.

During his tenure, the Raiders have finished in the top four of the Patriot League standings each season, reached the Patriot League Tournament title game three times, won two Patriot League Championships and participated twice in the NCAA Tournament.

He is the retired Athletic Director and Director of Recreation of the Syracuse Parks and Recreation Department, where he served for 23 years. As a former international women¹s amateur softball coach he won five New York State championships, coming in second three times and third once in the Mid-Atlantic regionals.

Ciccone took one of the first U.S. women¹s softball teams for a series of games and clinics all over mainland USA and parts of Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Belize, where they played before estimated crowds of 1500 people.

Since his retirement from the Syracuse Parks and Recreation Department, Ciccone has been active in the Onondaga County Softball Association and the Lakeshore Baseball/Softball Association. He serves on the board of directors, coaches volunteer parent-coaches, and lends his time to coaching little league all-star teams. He offers his services as an athletic consultant to municipalities and leagues in need of administrative aid.
