Colgate Men’s and Women’s Tennis head coach Bobby Pennington announced the hiring of Jeff Lonczak as an assistant coach in January.
 
"I am very excited to welcome Jeff to the Colgate tennis family,” said Pennington. “I have known Jeff for many years and he is a tremendous player, teacher, and loves the game. He will be a valuable asset in our program competing in the top half of the league."
 
Lonczak brings more than 15 years of experience teaching tennis to players of all levels and abilities in the Syracuse area. Certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association, Lonczak has worked with groups at Gold's Gym, Eastside Racquet Club, Le Moyne College, Manlius Pebble Hill, OCC and Hamilton College.
 
In addition to his work a teaching professional, Lonczak currently is a member of the Syracuse men’s 5.0+ team, playing national open and prize money events.
 
As a collegiate player, Lonczak was a three-time All-American at Onondaga Community College, winning both NJCAA singles and doubles National Championships during his two seasons with the Lazers. He was inducted into the OCC Hall of Fame in 2004.  
 
Lonczak completed his career at Le Moyne, where he was an All-Northeast 10 Second-Team selection in doubles and third-team selection in singles. He was was ranked No. 9 in the northeast at the Division II level during his time with the Dolphins.
 
Lonczak received his Bachelor's degree from Le Moyne College in 2003 and his Masters degree from SUNY Oswego in 2007.
