Chelsea Jones

Chelsea Jones begins her first season as an assistant coach for the Raiders.

Jones brings to the Raiders an extensive background in tennis instruction, having served the last two summers as Director of Tennis at the Tennis Academy of Harvard. She managed a staff of 30 instructors for 1,200 campers at the Cambridge, Mass., facility owned and operated by the Harvard University men's and women's tennis coaches.

In 2010, after completing her four-year playing career at Syracuse University, Jones was the Junior Elite Training Program Director at the Tennis Academy of Harvard. She later served a spring 2011 internship at Tennissmith teaching academy in Tampa, Fla., training with some of the top instructors in the game for her future coaching career.

"Chelsea Jones is a tremendous addition to the Colgate tennis family," said head coach Bobby Pennington. "She brings an outstanding background as a player for Luke Jensen at Syracuse and a Director of the Tennis Academy at Harvard, under Dave Fish and Traci Green. I look for her to help take the programs to the next level in the upcoming years."

A native of San Dimas, Calif., Jones progressed from walk-on to scholarship student-athlete at Syracuse. She eventually served as team captain, was a Dean's Scholarship recipient all four years and became a Wortman-Elman Scholar.
