Meghan Kovac was promoted to Colgate’s Associate Athletics Director for Leadership and Inclusion in July 2023.

In this role, she is responsible for the management and oversight of the department’s Student-Athlete Support Services team, as well as leading the Division’s efforts relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Kovac previously served as the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development, a promotion earned in January 2022 after initially joining Colgate Athletics in September of 2019 as the Director of Student-Athlete Development.

Kovac oversees the division’s broad-based student-athlete development program, including the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Wellness Advocates, and other offerings such as health and wellness, career development, and personal development, while supporting many campus partnerships. Additionally, she manages Student-Athlete Academic Support, which includes the oversight of academic success and skill development for all our teams. She directly supports Football, Men’s Basketball, Men’s Crew, Men’s Golf, Men’s Tennis, Swimming & Diving, Softball, Women’s Ice Hockey, Women’s Tennis, and Volleyball.

In addition to her role within the PERA Division, Kovac serves on a variety of committees across the University, including the Academic Affairs Board and the Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs. She is also engaged professionally outside of the University, as a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A), as well as Women Leaders in College Sports.

Kovac arrived at Colgate from Northeastern University, where she worked as a graduate assistant in the office of Student-Athlete Development and Compliance. While at Northeastern, Kovac put on quality events for student-athletes dealing with topics such as networking and mental health. Kovac also created compliance tips, served as a SAAC advisor, and was a key cog in planning for Northeastern’s community engagement events.

A native of Warren, New Jersey, Kovac earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Bucknell University in 2018. She then received her master’s degree in sports leadership from Northeastern University in 2019. While at Bucknell, Kovac was a standout member of the softball team, completing her career with the all-time program record for home runs, RBIs, and doubles. She received the Patriot League Outstanding Leadership and Character Award, as well as Bucknell’s John F. Zeller Award.
