Brian Regan is in his fifth season as an assistant coach on the Raider staff. He came to Colgate from Assumption College where he served as an assistant coach for three seasons.
Regan's responsibilities include recruiting, scouting, coordinating Colgate's summer Basketball Day and Elite Prospect Camps and he is the academic coordinator for the program which involves montoring the academic support program. On the practice floor, he works primarily with the post players.
While serving as the associate head coach at Assumption College under Tom Ackerman, Regan helped the Greyhounds reach the 24-win plateau in the 2002 season winning the Northeast 10 championship and a trip to the Division II NCAA Tournament's "Sweet Sixteen."
Prior to his coaching experience at Assumption, Regan served as an assistant coach at Slippery Rock University (1994-1999), La Roche College (1993-94) and Robert Morris College (1990-93). He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Pittsburgh (1988-90) under Paul Evans.
During his tenure at Robert Morris, the Colonials won the Northeast Conference title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 1992, and while at Pittsburgh, the Panthers appeared in the 1989 NCAA Tournament.
A 1988 graduate of Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Penn., he earned a degree in communications. He is a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches, Basketball Coaches Association of New York and Western Pennslyvania Coaches Association. Regan and his wife Catherine, who serves as the Director of Colgate's Center for Leadership and Student Involvement, reside in Hamilton.
