Jared Livingston joined Colgate University in April 2019 as the running backs coach, where his leadership has transformed the Raiders' backfield into one of the most dynamic in the Patriot League.Â
In May 2024, Livingston was selected for the NFL's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship with the Green Bay Packers. During this program, he participated in the Packers' offseason workouts and Organized Team Activities (OTAs), working closely with running backs coach Ben Sirmans. Livingston’s responsibilities included breaking down film, facilitating practices, and assisting in position-specific drills, providing him with valuable NFL coaching experience.
Under Livingston's guidance in the 2023 season, Max Hurleman earned First Team All-Patriot League honors and set the Colgate record for career receiving yards by a running back. That same season, Chris Gee led the Colgate Raiders in rushing yards, finishing as one of the conference’s top rushers and ranking fifth in yards per carry among Patriot League running backs, with an impressive 5.8 yards per attempt.
In 2020, Livingston coached Malik Twyman to surpass 1,000 career rushing yards, making Twyman the 35th player in Colgate history to achieve this milestone, highlighting Livingston’s skill in developing consistent, top-tier runners.
In 2019, Livingston developed an impactful backfield duo with Malik Twyman and Alex Mathews. Twyman individually ranked third in the Patriot League for touchdowns scored by a running back that year. Together, Twyman and Mathews recorded 10 touchdowns, marking the second-highest total by a running back duo against Patriot League teams that season. Mathews also led the Raiders in rushing yards in 2019, showcasing the depth and effectiveness Livingston cultivated within the Colgate running game.
Before his tenure at Colgate, Livingston served as the halfbacks’ coach at Springfield College under head coach Mike Cerasuolo for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. His impact was immediate as Springfield achieved an 18-4 record, including a perfect 10-0 regular season in 2017. That year, the team led the nation in rushing, averaging an impressive 435.2 yards per game. Springfield also earned an NCAA playoff berth in 2017 and capped off the 2018 season with a New England Bowl victory.
While at Springfield, Livingston coached standout players Hunter Belzo and Tyler Hyde, who were instrumental to the team’s high-scoring offense and received numerous accolades.
Hunter Belzo established himself as a relentless rusher, recording an impressive 23 touchdowns over the 2017 and 2018 seasons. His performance earned him All-Conference honors and recognition on multiple All-Region teams. His outstanding 2018 season earned him ECAC Division III North All-Star accolades, further cementing his status as one of the top running backs in the region.
Tyler Hyde showcased his versatility and strength in the backfield, consistently contributing high scores to Springfield’s offensive dominance. Hyde’s remarkable performance led to several postseason honors, including an All-Conference selection and D3football.com All-East Region honors. His contributions in 2018 were pivotal in Springfield’s New England Bowl win, where he helped lead the offense to a decisive victory.
A Seattle native, Livingston began his coaching career at Mercer Island High School and Seattle Prep High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in sport management (2010) and a master's in athletic administration (2019) from Springfield College.
Livingston and his wife, Amanda, are proud parents of two sons, Jett and Jaxton.
