Greg DeLade was named Colgate Football's defensive line coach in March 2026.

DeLade brings more than a decade of collegiate coaching and playing experience to Hamilton, including a proven track record of developing elite defensive fronts and coordinating nationally ranked defenses.

DeLade arrives at Colgate after serving as Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach at Salve Regina since 2020. During his tenure, the Seahawks compiled a 35-16 record, highlighted by a dominant 2023 campaign in which Salve Regina led the NEWMAC in scoring defense (12.0 points per game), total defense (256 yards per game), rush defense (112 yards per game), and pass defense (144 yards per game). Nationally, the defense ranked No. 10 in Division III in scoring defense, No. 13 in pass defense, and No. 20 in total defense.

In addition to coordinating the defense, DeLade conducted defensive unit and positional meetings, installed game plans, and organized weekly practice preparation. He also previously served as Special Teams Coordinator at Salve Regina, overseeing all special teams units while contributing to the program’s recruiting and fundraising efforts. His leadership helped produce 18 All-Conference selections and two Defensive Players of the Year.

Prior to his time in Newport, DeLade spent four seasons (2015–19) as Defensive Line Coach at Muhlenberg College. There, he helped guide the Mules to a 36-10 record while developing one of the most consistent and productive defensive fronts in the Centennial Conference. Under his direction, Muhlenberg’s defense led the conference in total defense (2015-16, 2018), rush defense (2015-18), and scoring defense (2016-17).

DeLade directly coached seven All-Conference defensive linemen, the Centennial Conference/South Region Defensive Player of the Year, and a First Team All-American.

A graduate of Muhlenberg College with a degree in Business Administration, DeLade was a four-year varsity letter winner for the Mules, playing in 43 career games with 34 starts. A three-time All-Centennial selection and two-time All-ECAC honoree, he was also named to the program’s All-Decade Team and received the Dig In Award, recognizing his work ethic and commitment to team success.
