Heather Moore

Heather Davis begins her third season at her alma mater in 2011, after serving as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division III level prior to coming back to Hamilton.

“I’m very excited to have Heather join our program,” said Foto.  “She is one of the best defensive players that I have ever coached and was a two-time captain.  Heather was an exceptional all-around player.  She was a leader on and off the field and a true student-athlete.  Heather will be an excellent recruiter for us and that coupled with her knowledge and game sense will assist our young squad as we continue to develop.  I couldn’t be happier that Heather has decided to come back to Colgate."

Davis, a native of nearby Greene, N.Y., lettered four years for the Raiders between 2004 and 2007 as a defender.  During her career, she earned first team all-Patriot League honors as well as being named to the league’s all-tournament team, and being selected as a second team Mideast Region honoree, all in her final season.  Davis, a second team all-league recipient in 2006, finished with five assists for her career – all coming her sophomore season when she led the team.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in history in May of 2008, Davis embarked on her collegiate coaching career accepting the assistant position at SUNY Oneonta, where she helped with all aspects of the Red Dragons’ program.  Among her primary responsibilities were teaching defensive skills, strategy and developing goal keeping skills.  In addition to her duties with field hockey, Davis served as assistant women’s lacrosse coach as well for the last two seasons.

Since 2005, she also has been involved with the U.S. Field Hockey Association as an assistant and head coach serving the Binghamton area.
