Emily Barnes, head cheerleading coach, has been employed at Colgate University since August 2012. She was hired as head cheerleading coach in October 2013.

In this role, Barnes is responsible for managing a 16-member cheer squad, as well as creating routines and performances used by the squad. She organizes spirit events and appearances for all Raider sports.

Barnes also is a sports marketing intern for the athletics department. Her responsibilities include working with a marketing team to develop, implement and execute promotions for all home athletic contests to raise awareness and attendance of faculty, staff, students and community members.

A native of nearby Madison, Barnes received her bachelor’s degree in marketing and applied management analysis in 2011 from Le Moyne College. She was a four-year member of the Dolphins’ cheer team.
