Biography

Senior Year (2009): Oliver had a stellar start to her season finishing second for the team at the Harry Lang Invitational.  Oliver finished the 4.4k course in 16:58, finishing 9th overall.

Junior Year (2008): Oliver was abroad in Manchester, England for the fall semester. 

Sophomore Year (2007): Oliver was among Colgate’s top five runners on five occasions.  Oliver finished over a minute faster than her freshman year time, running a personal best 5k of 18:22 at the UAlbany Invitational.  At the Patriot League Championship Oliver ran a season best 6k of 22:47, finishing 22nd overall.  Oliver went on to compete in the ECAC and NCAA post-season meets. 

In Track Oliver competed in the 1500m.  At the Class of ’32 Invitational, Oliver ran a season best mile of 5:18.

Freshman Year (2006): Oliver finished fifth for the Raiders at the Paul Short Invitational with a season best 6k of 24:01.  At the UAlbany Invitational Oliver ran a season best 5k of 19:43.  Oliver had a strong race at the Patriot League Championship finishing 8th for the team as a Freshman. 

In Indoor and Outdoor Track Oliver competed in the 1500m and 3000m.  Throughout the season Oliver dropped 22 seconds off her best 1500m-time to run a personal best of 4:56 at the Patriot League Championship.

Before Colgate: Oliver was a three-year letter winner in Cross Country and a four-year letter winner in Track.  She was the Maryland Independent Athletic Association one-mile and two-mile Champion in 2005.  Oliver was named to the Washington Post First-Team All-Country in Cross Country and Track her Junior year.  Oliver was voted the Most Valuable Player twice in Cross Country and three times in Track.  She served as team captain for both Cross Country and Track her Junior and Senior years. 

Oliver was a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Emily Katherine Oliver was born in Annapolis, Maryland to James and Laura Oliver.
