Biography

Senior Year (2011-12):  Had a year full of first place finishes ... He placed first in the 200 butterfly against Niagara, Buffalo, Bucknell, and Cornell ... also won the 500 free in the meet against Cornell, posting a time of 4:48.55 ...  took home first place in the 200 free against Binghamton with a time of 1:43.69 ... he was the first leg of the 400 free relay team that took first place at the Tri-meet against Army and Lafayette, helping the team finish with a time of 3:10.72 ... finished the season at the Patriot League Championships with a fifth place finish in the 200 fly, with a season-best time of 1:50.25 ... also recorded a season best time in the 500 free at this meet, recording a time of 4:34.68, finishing 12th overall ... was a part of the 200 medley relay team that took sixth overall at the Patriot League Championships, and narrowly missed the Colgate record (set last year) by .12 seconds, with a time of 1:33.52 ... also was a part of the team that took fifth overall in the 400 free relay on the last day of the Championships, recording a time of 3:03.67 ... also competed in the International Meeting at Alexandria in Athens, Greece and earned a first-place finish in the 200-meter butterfly.

Junior Year (2010-11): Named second team All-Patriot League for the first time in career ... swam to a couple of top-10 finishes at Patriot League Championships ... set a new Colgate record in the 200 butterfly at Patriot League Championships with a time of 1:49.83, which was a a fifth-place finish ... he broke his own mark in the event ... anchored the 200 freestyle relay team that set a Colgate record and finished third at championships ... teamed with Dan Sweeney, Samuel Ellis and Tucker Gniewek.

Sophomore Year (2009-10): Posted a pair of top 10 finishes at the Patriot League Championships ... lowered his school record with a 1:50.62 in the final of the 200 fly en route to a fifth-place performance ... swam a 1:51.81 in the prelims, which ranks fourth on the all-time list ... tallied a seventh place finish in the 100 fly with a 51.04 ... qualified for the final with a 50.53, which ranks seventh on the list ... teamed with Patrick White, Devon Healy and Casey Powers to break the school record in the 800 free relay (6:49.60) ... was also a part of the 200 free relay (1:23.87) and 400 free relay (3:03.05) squads that recorded the second best times in Colgate history.

Freshman Year (2008-09): Was named co-recipient of the Aaron Weddle Award, which goes to the male swimmer that puts the team goals ahead of his personal goals ... posted three top 15 performances at the Patriot League Championships ... set freshman and school records in the preliminaries of the 200 fly with a time of  1:51.24 ... finished fifth in the event with the second fastest time at Colgate (1:51.62) ... posted the second fastest time ever at Colgate in the 200 free (1:40.86) on his way to a 10th-place effort ... finished 12th in the 100 free with a Colgate freshman record and the third quickest time ever (46.20) ... swam the third leg on four different school record setting relays - 200 free relay (1:22.49), 400 free relay (3:01.75), 800 free relay (6:49.81) and 400 medley relay (3:25.74) ... finished ninth in the 200 fly at the Nike Invitational ... swam season bests 52.29 in the 100 fly versus Binghamton and a 4:46.62 in the 500 free at the Nike Invitational.

High School: A four-year letterwinner in swimming at New Canaan High School ... served as team captain as a senior ... earned All-America honors in the 200 free, and 200 and 400 free relays ... A three-time all-state and all-FCIAC first-team selection ... won the 2008 CIAC Class M state championship and FCIAC championship in the 200 free ... was the runner-up in the CIAC State Open competition in the 200 free ... the best times of his scholastic career were 21.68 in the 50 free, 47.13 in the 100 free, 1:41.42 in the 200 free, 51.76 in the 100 fly, and 1:54.21 in the 200 fly ... holds CIAC Class M state record and school varsity record in 200 free ... Named team MVP in 2008 ... also lettered in soccer and track and field.
