Biography

Senior Year (2014-15): Posted eighth fastest time in school history in 100 breast at Patriot League Championships (58.96) … Recorded 12th best time in program history in 200 breast event at Patriot League Championships (2:10.05) … Set season bests in 50 free (22.62) during Patriot League Championships … Posted season best in 200 individual medley against Niagara (2:08.93).

Junior Year (2013-14):  Swam his fastest 100 fly in 1:05.39 versus Cornell ... Recored three of his fastest times in the Patriot League Championship finishing the 50 free in 22.80, 100 breaststroke in 59.18 and 200 breaststroke in 2:11.77.

Sophomore Year (2012-13): Swam his fastest 100 free in 52.50 versus Buffalo and his fastest 400 IM versus Connecticut. 

Freshman Year (2011-12): Swam his three fastest times at the 2012 Patriot League Championship finishing the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:01.91, swimming the 200 yard individual medley in 2:01.92, and also finishing the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:14.60, which was second fastest for Colgate.

Before Colgate: Swam at the International School Bangkok and was a two-time team captain ... led his team to the Interscholastic Association of Southeast Asian Schools Championship as a senior, which was the school's first ever title ... won two gold medals at the championships (200 IM, 200 Breast), along with a silver (100 Breast) and bronze (200 Back) ... was a four-time IASAS Award recipient ... team MVP as a senior and was the MVP of the Panther Swim Club ... also competed in cross country.

Personal: Haakon A. Brekke is the son of Sigve Brekke and Torguun Aas Reggestad ... was born in Drammen, Norway ... was a member of the Kids Action for Kids organization in high school and the Model UN.
