Cross Country Kicks Off 2026 Season

Raiders host Harry Lang Invitational on Saturday

HAMILTON - The Raiders will continue their annual tradition of kicking off the cross country season by hosting the Harry Lang Invitational. The Harry Lang will take place Saturday, Sept. 5 beginning at 11 a.m.

Both squads placed second in the meet last year and will look to begin the season just as strong in 2026. The men's team placed sixth in the 2025 Patriot League Championships while the women placed ninth.

"We're approaching this season as a slow burn," coach France said. "We have an incredibly ambitious group of student-athletes who are eager to compete and prove what they're capable of, and part of my job as a coach is managing that eagerness so we can peak at the right time—late October and into November, when it matters most. We have an extremely talented group, but our focus early in the year is on being patient, building gradually, and laying the foundation for the season ahead. We want to be mentally and physically sharp when the championship season arrives, not necessarily at the beginning of September. I'm really excited about this team. We have many familiar faces returning, combined with a talented group of newcomers who I anticipate making an impact early. There's a lot of potential in this group, and I'm excited to see what we can build together."

The men's team added four newcomers while the women's group added four as well. All eight additions will be looking to make an impact in the 2026 season.

Liam Davis and Dakin Ebmeyer return for their senior seasons. Davis ran 31:24.0 in the 10K at the NCAA Division I Northeast Region Championships while Ebmeyer finished 30th in the 8K at the Patriot League Championship with a 25:39.9.

Emma Klina and Sophia Green return for their fourth season on the women's team. Klina competed in three meets last season with a best finish of ninth at the John Reif Memorial Run. Green competed in five meets and placed 23th at the Colgate Harry Lang Invitational, clocking a 5k time of 20:40.8.
