Men's Hockey Set for ECAC Opening Round

Seventh-seeded Raiders host No. 10 Yale at Class of 1965 Arena

HAMILTON - The Raiders begin the 2026 ECAC postseason with an Opening Round game against 10th-seeded Yale at Class of 1965 Arena on Saturday evening.

Colgate closed out the regular season with a 7-3 win over St. Lawrence last weekend to secure the seven-seed in the ECAC Tournament. The Raiders finished 12-18-4 including a 9-10-3 mark in ECAC action.

One raffle ticket per fan will be available until the first period media timeout with prizes including team-issued merchandise and a Colgate Men's Hockey jersey.

The winner of Saturday's game will advance to the ECAC Quarterfinal set for next weekend hosted by the higher seed.

COLGATE - YALE SERIES
The Raiders lead the series 59-55-7 all-time including a 33-22-1 mark at home. Colgate swept the regular season against the Bulldogs with a 4-3 overtime win in Hamilton before scoring six unanswered in New Haven to win 6-3. The last time these two teams met in the postseason was in the 2021-22 ECAC First Round and the Raiders swept the Bulldogs in a best-of-three series.

THE BULLDOGS
Yale enters Class of 1965 Arena on a four-game skid to close out the regular season. The Bulldogs have one win and one tie over the last 12 games and their last regulation win in conference play came back on Jan. 17 against Union.

SPREADING THE WEALTH
Four different Raiders are currently tied for the team lead in points with 26. Ryan Sullivan, Isaiah Norlin, Simon Labelle, and Max Nagel have all tallied 26 points heading into the postseason.

BETWEEN THE PIPES
Reid Dyck and Andrew Takacs each earned a start over the weekend. Dyck made 23 saves in the Raiders loss to Clarkson and currently ranks fourth in the ECAC in saves with 683 through 26 games. Takacs made 18 saves in the win over St. Lawrence and brought his save percentage above .900 for the third consecutive season.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Max Nagel | F | So. | Colgate

Nagel has scored a team-high 11 goals this season and tacked on 15 assists. The sophomore has five points over the final four games of the season and averages over a point a game this season.

Ronan O'Donnell | F | So. | Yale

O'Donnell leads the Bulldogs in goals with 11 this season and is tied for the lead in points with 22. The sophomore has four points over the last five games and leads the team in power play goals with four.
