Raiders Ready for ECAC Opening Round

The road to Lake Placid begins Friday

HAMILTON - The Raiders open up the ECAC postseason on Friday as they are set to host No. 11 seeded RPI.

Colgate has never squared off with RPI in postseason play and this will be the Raiders first ECAC Opening Round game since the postseason format was changed in 2024.

BEHIND THE SERIES
The Raiders have fared well against Rensselaer in series history, leading 30-11-6 all time. Colgate beat the Engineers 2-1 in overtime just two weeks ago thanks to an Alexia Aubin shot from the high slot in the extra frame. In the reverse fixture back in Nov., the Raiders cruised to a 5-2 win in Troy, N.Y.

Since 2015, Colgate has just two losses and one tie against the Engineers. During that span, the Raiders rattled off 16 consecutive wins. The maroon-and-white holds a decisive 17-3-4 record at home against RPI with zero losses at Class of 1965 Arena.

Over the last five years, Colgate is an astonishing 12-0 on home ice in the postseason. This will be their first opening round game since the format was changed in 2024.

IN THE HISTORY BOOKS
Emma Pais tallied her 100th point in the Raiders 4-2 win over St. Lawrence. The junior became the 22nd player in program history to eclipse the century mark and with 102 career points, sits within 15 of the top-10 scorers in Colgate women's hockey history.

Elyssa Biederman leads the Raiders in all major categories with 18 goals, 23 assists, and 41 points. She became the third player in Colgate women's hockey history to eclipse the 100 assists total in her career and sits third all-time in points with 180. Bieds has netted a team-high five game-winning goals this season which ranks fourth in the conference and 10th in the country.
