Men’s Rowing Concludes Fall Season at Princeton Chase

Four boats compete in final fall regatta

PRINCETON, N.J. – Colgate had four boats compete at the Princeton Chase, concluding its fall season. The races featured the Men's Varsity 8+, Men's Quad and Men's 4+ (A and B).

How It Happened
The Men's Varsity 8+ competed at 9 a.m. to start the day. The Raiders competed against 57 other boats and finished 20th. Colgate crossed the finish line in 13:06.739, edging Bucknell (A) (13:07.888) and UPenn (D) (13:07.939). Princeton (A), UPenn (A) and Princeton (B) rounded out the top three spots in the Varsity 8+.

The Men's Quad was the next boat to race at 12:10 p.m. against three competitors. The Raiders were unable to finish the race after the boat hit a log halfway through, causing it to lose its fin. Fordham and Purdue finished ahead, while Princeton's A boat scratched.

The final two Colgate boats competed in the Men's 4+ against 29 other boats. The Raiders' B boat finished 22nd in 15:59.858, getting narrowly edged by Marist (D), which crossed the finish line in 15:59.594. The Colgate A boat finished 25th in 16:29.358, ahead of Washington College (A) (17:10.304) and Mercyhurst (C) (18:03.493).
