Senecal scores first career goal



HAMILTON - Taylor Senecal scored her first career goal and Emma Pais netted her third of the weekend en route to a 3-1 win over Union at Class of 1965 Arena on Saturday.

Brooke Davis made 23 saves in net for Colgate to earn her second straight win.

First Period
  • 3:03 | Jamiee Spring made a cross-ice pass to Taylor Senecal who ripped a shot into the top right corner to give Colgate an early lead.
  • 7:00 | Emma Pais picked up the puck off a Union defender and went forehand, backhand, and around the netminder to double Colgate's advantage.
  • 11:29 | Klara Kenttala scored unassisted to cut the Raiders' lead to one.
Second Period
  • 4:56 | The Raiders went to the power play but were unable to capitalize.
  • 15:24 | A flurry of shots from Colgate pressured the Union defense but the score remained 2-1.
Third Period
  • 6:25 | Alexia Aubin and Senecal fired shots on goal during a power play but Emma Rheaume kept Colgate out of the net.
  • 14:29 | Brooke Davis made a triple save in the late stages of the third period.
  • 18:53 | After a penalty, Ava Wood picked up a loose put and shot it three quarters of the way down the ice into an empty net to earn a 3-1 win.
Notes
  • The Raiders started 2-0 in ECAC play for the third time in the last five seasons.
  • Colgate improved to 49-0-3 all-time against Union.
  • Taylor Senecal scored her first career goal.

Colgate (8-2, 2-0 ECAC) hits the road for its first conference road series of the season. The Raiders will take on Princeton on Friday with puck drop set for 6 p.m.
