First-year captured two first-place finishes against Holy Cross

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Katie Miller of the Colgate women's swimming and diving team was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after her standout performance in the Raiders' dual meet against Holy Cross last Saturday.

Miller delivered a pair of event victories for Colgate, highlighted by a commanding win in the 1,000-yard freestyle, where she touched the wall first with a time of 10:39.58. The performance earned nine team points and marked the fastest time in the event by more than 16 seconds.

Later in the meet, Miller returned to the pool to claim first place in the 500-yard freestyle, posting a winning time of 5:09.46 to secure another nine points for the Raiders.

The rookie's consistency in the distance freestyle events helped anchor Colgate's scoring depth on the women's side, where the Raiders edged out Holy Cross 172.5-127.5.

With her first Patriot League weekly honor, Miller continues to establish herself as a cornerstone of Colgate's distance program early in her collegiate career. She becomes Colgate's second Patriot League Rookie of the Week, joining Paige Fisher who earned the honors last week.
