BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate University first-year swimmer
Paige Fisher was named the Patriot League Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week following an outstanding performance in the Raiders' double-dual meet against Boston University and Fairfield last Saturday.
Fisher delivered a pair of individual victories to lead the Colgate women, capturing first place in both the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard breaststroke. She touched first in the 200 Free with a time of 1:51.93, the fastest swim of the event, before adding another win in the 200 Breast at 2:18.63.
The West Chester, Pa., also showcased her sprint ability with a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking 52.29 against a strong field that included multiple upperclass competitors.
Fisher's performances were instrumental in Colgate's success on the day, as the Raiders defeated Fairfield 152-89 in the women's dual meet and remained competitive against Boston University. Her versatility across multiple events and ability to score at the top of the field highlighted a breakout performance early in her collegiate career.
This marks Fisher's first Patriot League weekly honor and continues a strong start to her freshman season for the Raiders.
