Colgate Battles to Scoreless Draw

Widrick secures fifth clean sheet of the season

HAMILTON
-
The Raiders battled to a 0-0 draw against Bucknell on Saturday at Beyer-Small '76 Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 10 minutes into the match Cason Stafford played Gavin Krauss in but the winger was unable to get a clean shot off.
  • Halfway through the first half, Stafford back-heeled the ball to Drew Stephans in the Bucknell 18-yard box but Stephans' shot sailed over.
  • The Bison were able to get behind the Raiders defense late in the first half but the striker made less than desired contact and Eric Widrick made a comfortable save.
  • Widrick was called into action moments later with a full stretch stop to keep the match scoreless at the halftime break.
  • Bucknell had a header go narrowly wide 16 minutes into the second half.
  • Blake Pipkin served a ball into the path of Alex St. John but he wasn't able to get enough on it to turn it past the Bison keeper.
  • Widrick made another full stretch save with 13 minutes left in the game.
  • The Raiders keeper was called into action once again with five to go, a strike from the top of the box was parried away to Widrick's left.
  • The defensive unit for Colgate stood tall under some late Bucknell pressure and held on to a 0-0 draw.
