HAMILTON - The Raiders track and field teams competed across multiple meets over the weekend. Colgate posted finishes at the Bucknell Bison Classic in Lewisburg, Pa., the Utica Pioneer Invitational in Utica, N.Y., and the South Florida Invitational in Tampa, Fla.

COACH FRANCE'S COMMENTS

"Very solid weekend for our program. I've been impressed with the progress that we've made week by week. We had some underclassman step up in a big way and put themselves in scoring position in our conference. We have one last big test this upcoming weekend and I'm excited to see how this momentum continues to build."

Bucknell Bison Classic

WOMEN

Kara Shepard placed 16th in the 5000m run.

Annie Reilly finished 17th in the 3000m steeplechase.

Kiran George logged a 19th place finish in the 100m hurdles.

MEN

Owen McMorrow and John Griffith placed 11th and 12th, respectively, in the 10,000m. Griffith finished one-hundredth of a second behind McMorrow. Andrew McGraw finished 16th in the same event.

Tyler Ferlise finished 11th with a time of 3:58.65 in the 1500m.

Ben Horner logged a 14th place finish in the 800m.

Thomas Rivier placed 16th in the 3000m run.

Utica Pioneer Invitational

WOMEN

Melinda Haagensen secured the gold medal in the pole vault as she posted a vault of 3.65m. Fellow Raider, Julianna Hallyburton took home the silver in the pole vault with a leap of 3.50m.

Sonia Erbe brought home a silver medal high jump with a leap of 1.48m. Erbe also logged an 11th place finish in the long jump.

Sophia Green posted a fourth place finish in the 5000m run. Green posted a time of 19:35.72.

Frances Munger finished eighth in the 1500m with a time of 5:08.94. Chloe Schiller, Abby Poplawski, and Emma Klina placed 10th, 11th, and 12th respectively, in the same event.

MEN

John Turnbull brought home the silver in the 400m hurdles, crossing the finish line at 1:00.07. Turnbull also logged a sixth place finish in the 110m hurdles.

Andrew Sullivan secured a sixth place spot in the 5000m run with a time of 16:29.56.

William Kiessling finished 13th in the 1500m run.

South Florida Invitational

WOMEN

Sara Tabibian placed ninth in the 400m hurdles with a posted time of 1:02.52.

MEN

Cole Blair posted a sixth place finish in the long jump with a leap of 7.38m. 

Ethan Eisner finished just inside the top 10 in the 200m dash with a time of 21.01s. Eisner also logged a 19th place finish in the 400m.

Colgate will participate in the Virginia Challenge next Friday and Saturday as well as the UAlbany Spring Classic on Friday.
