HAMILTON - Taylor Golembiewski led four double-digit scoring efforts on the Raiders to help extend the joint longest winning streak for Colgate this season to four games and defeat Boston University 71-51 on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Colgate forced two turnovers on Boston's opening three possessions to take a 9-4 lead.
- Sophia Diehl drilled a corner three before Taylor Golembiewski picked off a Boston inbound and hit a mid range jumper to force an early Terrier timeout.
- BU was able to respond with a 3-pointer and the Raiders took a 20-15 lead into the second frame.
- After Anne Bair made two free throws, Boston used a six-point run to get within one point.
- The Raiders answered with a seven-point surge to regain a comfortable lead halfway through the second quarter.
- Both teams continued to trade buckets and Colgate took a 34-25 lead into the halftime break.
- The Terriers went on a 7-2 run to start the second half and cut the Raiders lead to just four points.
- BU got within two points before Diehl delivered with a triple and pushed the Raiders lead to five.
- Diehl's trey sparked a 12-point run that saw the Raiders take a 52-38 lead.
- Colgate stayed in control and took a 57-42 lead into the final frame.
GAME NOTES
- Colgate completed the season sweep over Boston U for the first time since 2015.
