HOW IT HAPPENED

The game began with both teams exchanging early leads, as Colgate and the Blue Hens each held the lead twice. Colgate capitalized on Delaware's early turnovers, with Ella Meabon scoring the first points from the free-throw line. Delaware responded with seven unanswered points in the paint, but Grace Klag's layup sparked a 10–0 Raider run to regain a 12–7 lead.

Seven of the 13 lead changes came in the second quarter alone. Tatiana Matthews locked down on defense to force a Blue Hens turnover and convert on the other end, giving Colgate a 16–11 lead.

Ella Meabon scored nine of her 24 points in the second quarter. Her mid-quarter jumper and a three-pointer helped Colgate maintain a one-point edge, 21–20.

Despite consistent defensive pressure, including a block by Lara Cook, Delaware regained control through its scoring in the paint and carried a narrow 29–23 lead into halftime.

Colgate overcame a six-point halftime deficit, outscoring Delaware 11–2 in the first five minutes to take a 34–31 lead. Meabon took charge, initiating contact and converting an and-one.

Christina Midgette and Abbey Ferguson knocked down back-to-back jumpers, and Ferguson helped the Raiders regain the lead with a steal that led to a fast-break layup..

Defensively, Colgate limited Delaware's scoring opportunities, with notable steals from Cook and Matthews and a block by Ferguson. Matthews hit crucial free throws, helping sustain Colgate's 40–39 lead.

With 1:43 on the clock, Meabon converted the game-tying layup in regulation. Both teams had chances to score, but neither could sink a shot, forcing overtime.
