BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Colgate University men's basketball first-year
Andrew Alekseyenko has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season, as announced today by the Patriot League office.
Alekseyenko earned the honor following his standout performance against Harvard, where he posted 17 points and added seven rebounds in a hard-fought non-league contest at Cotterell Court. He scored 11 of his points after halftime, including seven straight in a 10-0 burst and a go-ahead 3-pointer, that helped the Raiders overcome an early 10-point deficit. It was his sixth straight game scoring in double-figures.
The four-time Patriot League Rookie of the Week leads all first-years in the conference, averaging 14.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. He previously earned the honor after his career-high 25-point performance at St. Bonaventure. Alekseyeno has scored in double-figures 11 times this season, including six games with at least 17 after Sunday's non-league finale against Harvard.
