Raiders roll into Washington, D.C., searching for first league road win

  • Back on the Road | Colgate is on the road for three of its next four Patriot League games starting on Saturday when the Raiders visit Georgetown in Washington, D.C. Colgate will not play another league game at Andy Kerr Stadium until Nov. 15 (Lehigh).

  • Head-to-Head Series | Colgate sports a 20-1 all-time record against Georgetown dating back to the initial meeting in 2002. The Raiders head to Georgetown looking for their 13th straight head-to-head victory, including seven in a row in D.C.

  • Previous Meeting | Marco Maldonado logged career highs with 14 carries for 112 yards, scoring one of four Raider rushing touchdowns in Colgate’s first Patriot League win of the season, 38-28 over Georgetown last October. Tymir Wynn added two interceptions including the game-sealing pick in the end zone with under two minutes remaining.

  • Back Where it Began | Jake Stearney made his Colgate debut in the previous trip to Georgetown as a first-year in 2023 after Zach Osborne was injured in the second quarter. He finished the game 8-for-13 for 56 yards and led a pivotal scoring drive that made an impact on Colgate’s 28-18 victory.

  • High Scoring Affairs | Colgate has scored at least 24 points in eight consecutive meetings against Georgetown dating back to 2016. During that span the Raiders have eclipsed 30 points five times, including last year in their 38-28 win.

  • Stearney Strikes | Jake Stearney threw for 322 yards in Colgate’s 24-19 loss to Richmond last weekend. He became the eighth quarterback in program history and first since Jake Melville ’17 to record multiple 300-yard games in a Colgate career.

  • Swanson Steps Up | Reed Swanson stepped up with seven receptions for a career-high 113 yards last weekend against Richmond. His yardage output bested his previous personal-best 110 at Syracuse, and his 42-yard pitch and catch in the second quarter was the longest of his Colgate career.

  • Clutch Hutch | Brady Hutchison tied his career high with eight receptions last weekend against Richmond. He made a spectacular grab on a fade in the endzone for his 10th career touchdown. It was his first RD reception of the 2025 season.

  • Offense in Stride | Colgate amassed 402 total yards of offense vs Richmond, its fourth game eclipsing 400 this season. The Raiders are averaging 438 yards per game, which  would be second to the 2012 squad (468) for the best season average.

  • Defense Making Plays | Colgate leads the Patriot League with 10 interceptions this season. The Raiders have two games with four picks this season, including the season opener when they registered all four interceptions in the first half vs Monmouth.

  • Paul-Marie Putting on Pressure | Sophomore Paul-Marie Dogui has made his presence in the backfield, especially over the last three games. During that stretch he has three sacks, including a career-high two against Fordham. Dogui’s three sacks ranks fourth in the Patriot League.

  • Narrow Decisions | All three of Colgate’s defeats to FCS opponents this season have been decided by one possession for a total of 15 points. The Raiders have been tied or led in the fourth quarter in two of those three contests thus far.

  • Lucky Number 13 | Colgate considers 13 to be a lucky number. The University celebrates Colgate Day every Friday the 13th. In 1817, 13 men met in the frontier settlement of Hamilton, N.Y., to found the Baptist Education Society of New York. They are said to have backed up their experiment in education with 13 dollars and 13 prayers, which is why 13 is considered a lucky number at Colgate.

  • With a win the Raiders would…

    • ...extend their head-to-head win streak against Georgetown to 13 games
    • ...improve to 21-1 all-time against Georgetown dating back to 2002
    • ...record their first Patriot League road victory
    • ...improve to 11-1 all-time on the road against Georgetown
    • ...avoid back-to-back defeats in Patriot League play
    • ...hold third place in the Patriot League standings
