Raiders Finish Fifth at Lagowitz Memorial

Herzig’s Fourth Place Finish Carries Colgate to Top Five

HAMILTON – Robbie Herzig's fourth-place finish carried Colgate to fifth place out of 15 teams competing in this weekend's Alex Lagowitz Memorial at Seven Oaks Golf Club.

Herzig turned in a 1-over-par 73 on Sunday to finish in fourth place at 4-under for the tournament. The senior entered Sunday tied for first place after firing a 5-under 67 on Saturday. Herzig drained three birdies to work around four bogeys in the final round on Sunday.

First-years Alex Hill and Jamison Bryant had strong showings all weekend, placing 23rd and 29th respectively. Hill sealed his final-round 1-over 73 to finish 3-over for the tournament, one stroke ahead of Bryant who was steady with back-to-back rounds of 2-over-par.

Jayden Freedman and Wyatt Petersen tied for 66th, while Justin Fedele finished in 83rd place.

Colgate finished fifth as a team at 11-over-par. Seton Hall scored 6-under as a team on Sunday to take co-medalist honors with Navy at 3-under-par for the tournament. Yale finished third at 3-over, followed by Villanova in fourth at 5-over.

Despite battling challenging weather, the dedication of the club's staff ensured the course was in impeccable condition. I'm proud of our efforts this weekend. There were many bright moments across our team. There's plenty we can build off as we strive to improve throughout the fall season."
