MYRTLE BEACH – The Colgate Men's and Women's Track and Field team competed in its first outdoor meet of the season in South Carolina at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational from Mar. 14 - Mar. 16.

COACH FRANCE'S COMMENTS

"Today was a solid start to the outdoor campaign. We had several personal records and individuals who stepped up to extend themselves in new events. Extremely impressed with our training week here in South Carolina leading up to competition. We are set to see very high level competition in the next few weeks and this week was a major step in preparation for the weeks ahead." 

WOMEN

First Year Sonia Erbe took home the gold in the high jump with a 1.48m leap in the finals.

Audrey Luell was able to capture second place in the 3000m run just 10 seconds off the pace with a time of 10:30.94.

First Year Oonagh Last finished third in the 400m finishing at 1:03.03. 

Katherine Wand launched the javelin 35.90m in the finals to capture sixth place in the event.

MEN

David Stephens won the one mile run crossing the finish line at 4:39.32. 

Joshua Antoine finished second in the 400m with a time of 50.76.

Owen Holland, Will Keiser, and Andrew McGraw finished third, fourth, and fifth respectively in the 3000m. 

In the 4x100 relay, Colgate was able to finish second behind UNC Pembroke. 

UP NEXT
The Raiders will travel to Maryland to compete in the Maryland Invitational for its second outdoor meet of the season next Saturday, Mar. 23. The event will take place at the University of Maryland all day.
