ANNAPOLIS – The Colgate women's basketball team lost a tight game to the Navy Midshipmen, 59-58 at Alumni Hall on Saturday evening.
Tiasia McMillan scored 10 points and added 12 boards to record her first double-double this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The game started back and forth with the Raiders using two runs to earn a 22-15 lead after one.
The second quarter saw more of the same as McMillan and Taylor Golembiewski used a pair of jumpers to increase the Raiders lead to as much as 12 early on. A late push from Navy meant that Colgate took a 31-27 lead into half.
Morgan McMahon hit a pair of free throws and finished an impressive 9-for-10 from the charity stripe as the Raiders remained in front 45-41 heading into the final frame.
Alexa Brodie hit a layup early in the final frame to give Colgate a nine-point advantage. However, Navy used a late run to edge the Raiders, 59-58.
The Raiders offense was led by three double-digit scorers, McMahon (13), Golembiewski (13), and McMillan (10).
Sophia Diehl grabbed a season-high 12 boards and added seven points. Madison Schiller netted eight points and added four rebounds.

The Raiders take the week off before returning to action Feb. 10 at home against Loyola. This game will be the Raiders Alumni Weekend honoring the 2003-2004 Patriot League championship team as well as Colgate's Women and Girls in Sports Game.
