ALBANY, N.Y. — No. 14 UAlbany scored five goals in the second half, taking an 8-0 win over Colgate Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UAlbany opened the scoring eight minutes into the first quarter when Blanca Orsola found the back of the cage.
- Less than three minutes later, Alison Smisdom put one in, making it 2-0 Great Danes.
- Floor de Ruiter extended UAlbany's lead to three with just over three and a half minutes left in the second.
- The Great Danes added one in the third from Isabella Del Vecchio and four more in the fourth.
- Colgate had a couple of chances to get on the board in the fourth, with Taylor Guibord and Lily Schoonmaker putting shots wide.
- The Raiders had three corners in the final 2:50 of the third. Grace Schmelzinger took a shot that was saved on the first corner, and Sarah Killcommons tried to follow the rebound, but her attempt was blocked.
- Colgate could not get anything going on the second corner immediately following. The third corner came with 40 seconds remaining, from which Ahria Dhillon fired a shot that got saved.
- Morgan Willis had a good look at the goal a minute into the third, ripping a shot that was stopped by the keeper.
