BALTIMORE, Md.— Loyola scored two goals in each half to down Colgate 4-0 Saturday afternoon in Patriot League action.
The Greyhounds got on the board in the 24th minute with a goal from Delaney DeMartino. Malia Tarazon then scored 14 minutes later to double Loyola's lead.
In the second half, the Greyhounds netted two goals less than a minute apart from each other to make it 4-0. Chloe Kuminkoski found the back of the net in the 65th minute, followed by a tally from Baylee DeSmit off a penalty kick 26 seconds later.
The Raiders made a late push to try to get back in it. Colgate recorded three shots and earned two corners in the final eight minutes.
Sara Anelli fired two shots three minutes apart during that time, both of which got saved by the goalie.
Jordan Juetten then put one wide of the goal in the 88th minute.
Colgate also had some chances early in the second. In the 48th minute,
Anna Keeling ripped a shot over the goal, and
Ana Schremp fired one wide.
Ari Bezanson also put a shot off target in the 64th minute.
In the first, the Raiders earned five corner kicks, including back-to-back chances in the 20th minute and three in the 34th minute, but they could not capitalize. Colgate finished with eight corners in the game.
Bezanson and
Ellie Stokes also had opportunities with shots that put off target.
