UTICA, N.Y. – Colgate track and field competed over the course of two days in the Pioneer Spring Invite held by Utica University Friday and Saturday. 

Senior captain Dominique Groguhe highlighted the weekend by breaking a school record in the women's discus throw with a toss of 47.67, breaking her own record of 45.47, set in the 2022 season. Groguhe's score was good enough for first place. 

The team of Benjamin Krill, Ryan Krill, Dylan Wehrly, and Ethan Eisner netted a first-place finish in the men's 4x100, finishing with a time of 42.89 from lane five, the best time in two years. 

Kara Shepard scored a second-place finish in the women's 5000m, setting a new personal record of 18:58.24. Shepard remained in the top three throughout the entire race. 

The brother duo of Benjamin and Ryan Krill netted nine points and two top-five finishes for the Raiders in the men's 100m. Benjamin edged out his brother for fourth place with a time of 11.29 while Ryan crossed the finish line with 11.33.  

First-year student Vincent Ryan placed just outside of the top three with a time of 2:01.16 in the men's 800m. Ryan's finish garnered five points for Colgate. 

Sophomore Eisner continued his hot day with a third place finish in the men's 200m, crossing the finish line with a time of 22.78 from lane six. 

Ethan Rifkin showed out for the Raiders in the men's javelin throw with a launch of 57.63. Rifkin was joined by fellow Raiders Jonathan David who scored a third-place finish and Henry Lewinsohn in fourth. 

Julianna Hallyburton recorded a result of 3.35 to secure first place in the women's pole vault. Halleyburton edged out strong contenders from St. John Fisher and Saint Rose.

Colgate takes the week to prepare for the trip to Lewisburg, Pa as they take part in the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic. The three-day event kicks off Friday.
