GLENSIDE, Pa. – Robbie Herzig's second consecutive seventh-place finish highlighted Colgate Golf's performance in the Wildcat Spring Invitational hosted by Villanova. 

Herzig's hot back nine featured an eagle on No. 10 and birdies on Nos. 11 and 17. He sat 4-under, which would have been good enough for second place, before finishing with an eight on the par-4 18th hole to close the day with a 1-over 72 and even-par 142 two-day total. 

Despite the tough finish, Herzig's late surge earned him a second straight seventh-place finish. He was one of 10 golfers to score par or better for the tournament and his 11 birdies were tied for the third-most on the course. Monday's 1-under 70 marked his sixth round of par or better this season, tied with Kevin Hollomon for the most on the team. 

Justin Fedele also posted a 1-over on Tuesday to climb 19 spots into a tie for 26th at 5-over (147) for the tournament. Dugan McCabe was three shots behind Fedele and tied for 46th, closing the tournament 8-over (150). Mark Gertsen tied for 59th at 10-over (152). 

Hollomon (+12) and Michael Hanratty (+13) were one shot apart to round out Colgate's scoring contingent tied for 71st and 73rd, respectively. 

Colgate placed 11th out of 15 teams with a 298-293=591 (+23) composite, two shots ahead of Holy Cross. 

Villanova won its home tournament at even par, followed by La Salle (+2) and Lehigh (+5). Peter Weaver of the Wildcats won the individual medal at 9-under.

Colgate returns to the course next Sunday and Monday for the Lafayette Spring Invitational. The Raiders cap the regular season at home with the Upstate Battle (April 22-23) at the historic Seven Oaks Golf Club.
