HAMILTON – The Road to March goes through Hamilton.

The No. 4 seed Colgate women's basketball team hosts the fifth-seeded Army West Point Black Knights for the Patriot League quarterfinals round on Monday, March 6, at 7 p.m.

The Raiders earned the fourth seed and first-round bye after ending the regular season with a winning record for only the third time in the Division I era at Colgate.

LAST TIME OUT
Colgate closed the regular season with its fourth straight win after splitting the season series with Loyola Maryland. The Raiders topped the Greyhounds 64-50 on the road to secure the fourth seed in the tournament. Sophomore Taylor Golembiewski carried the offense with 19 points in the victory. Junior Tiasia McMillan and senior Alexa Brodie rounded out the double-figure scoring with 14 and 10 points. Four Raiders captured five boards apiece to share the defensive efforts.

SERIES HISTORY
Monday's matchup will be the 44th meeting all-time between the two teams. Army leads the series 31-12 and has the current streak of one win.

Each team grabbed a win at home to split the regular season series. Colgate won 65-52 back on Jan. 8 to grab the Raiders' third straight conference game of the season. Golembiewski scored a career-high 24 points and team-high five rebounds in the victory.

The Black Knights avenged themselves on Feb. 15 when they held Colgate scoreless for the final six minutes of the game to take a 50-47 win in overtime. McMillan led the Raiders with 14 points and nine boards.

IT'S BEEN HOW LONG?
The Raiders have not won the quarterfinals round since the 2012-2013 season. The last time Colgate won the second round, they received the first-round bye, beat Army 48-40 on the road in the quarterfinals, and eventually fell to Holy Cross 59-38 in the semifinals.

POSTSEASON HONORS
Golembiewksi was the sole Raider to earn postseason honors, being named to the Patriot League All-League Second Team last Wednesday. Golembiewski, a member of the All-League Rookie team during her freshman campaign last season, leads the Raiders in scoring (350), field goals (130), and steals (48). The Columbia, Conn., native is averaging 12.3 points, 4.7 field goals, and 1.8 steals per game. She is also one rebound shy of the team-high, capturing 4.1 boards a contest. The sophomore is shooting almost 40 percent from the field, scoring 130-of-327 attempted field goals.

UP NEXT
The winner of Monday's contest advances to the semifinals to take on the winner of No. 9 Loyola Maryland vs. No. 1 Boston University. The semifinal matchup will be played at the higher seed on Thursday, March 9.
