HAMILTON – Colgate men's hockey hosts Dartmouth in a single-game first-round ECAC Hockey playoff matchup Friday.
The Raiders concluded the regular season with 11 conference wins, earning the fifth seed in the tournament. The Big Green enters postseason play as the 12th seed.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday's matchup will be the 116th meeting between the two teams. Colgate holds a slight edge in the all-time series with a 55-52-8 record.
This year, the Raiders swept the regular season series. Colgate downed Dartmouth 5-1 in the first meeting Dec. 2 at the Class of 1965 Arena, then pulled away with a 4-3 overtime victory in Hanover, N.H. Jan. 28.
The two teams have faced off in 11 playoff games with Colgate holding a 5-6 record in those contests. The last postseason meeting was during the 2015-16 season in a first-round best-of-three series that Dartmouth won two games to one.

LEADING THE WAYÂ
Alex Young (19-17-36) is tied for first in ECAC Hockey and is also tied for fifth in the nation in goals. Additionally, the junior ranks tied for fourth in the conference and tied for 12th in the country in points. Young is currently on an 18-game point streak, having tallied 14 goals and nine assists in that span.
Matt Verboon (14-17-31) currently sits tied for fourth in the conference in goals and ranks tied for seventh in points. Junior defenseman
Nick Anderson (3-22-25) leads the team is tied for fourth in ECAC Hockey. Fellow junior
Ross Mitton (8-17-25) is tied for second on the team in assists.
Colgate has also seen contributions from
Colton Young (8-14-22) and
Alex DiPaolo (9-14-23), who are tied for third on the team in assists. Young is second in ECACH in shots with 128.
On the defensive side,
Pierson Brandon is second in the league in blocked shots with 65. The Raiders' alternate captain has had at least one blocked shot in every game he has played.
Junior goalie
Carter Gylander has made 857 saves so far this season which is the sixth-most in the nation and leads ECAC Hockey. His .916 save percentage is fifth-best in the conference and tied for 11th-best nationally.
AMONG THE BEST
Colgate is second in ECAC Hockey in faceoff wins with 1,013. DiPaolo leads the team and ranks fourth in the conference with 299 wins at the dot. The Raiders have logged a .842 penalty kill percentage which is also second-best in ECACH and ninth in the country.
UP NEXT
If the Raiders advance, they will be on the road next weekend for a best-of-three quarterfinal series. Colgate's opponent would depend on the first-round results, as the teams will be reseeded.
