Golf Takes on Husky Invitational

Raiders Compete Over Two Days in Bremerton, Wash.

BREMERTON, Wash. – Colgate Golf competed in two tournaments over two days in the Husky Invitational in Bremerton, Wash., hosted by the University of Washington.

The standard Husky Invitational featured team scoring with typical five-player lineups. In contrast, the Husky Individual Invitational did not include team scoring and rather was composed of individuals from each team competing against each other.

Colgate's team-scoring lineup included Mark Gertsen, Dugan McCabe, Robbie Herzig, Wyatt Petersen, and Michael Hanratty. Individuals competing for the Raiders were Carson Duffy, Justin Fedele, Akhil Giri, Kevin Hollomon, and Jack Maguire.

Husky Invitational
Gold Mountain - Olympic Course

Colgate grappled a tough course with strong competition over 54 holes in the team tournament. Petersen and Herzig paced the Raiders in a tie for 65th place at +20. Petersen's 75 and Herzig's 79 in the second round were both their best cards for the tournament.

Husky Individual Invitational
Gold Mountain - Cascade Course

Hollomon was Colgate's top performer in the individual tournament, coming away with a tie for 17th after posting a 219 (+6) composite scorecard. Hollomon's second round was also his best of the tournament after carding a 70 (-1). He went 77-70-72 over the two days.

Maguire (+9) and Fedele (+10) were one shot apart in 28th and 30th, respectively. Giri placed 35th and Duffy finished 43rd to complete Colgate's individual scoring.

UP NEXT
Colgate is now off until next weekend, Oct. 1-2, when the Raiders head to Lake Placid for the Autumn Invitational hosted by Columbia at the Lake Placid Club.
