SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Colgate women's tennis team honored its three seniors — Nicole Condas, Ricki Lane, and Elizabeth Laub — prior to Saturday's non-conference match against St. Bonaventure, but it was the Bonnies that celebrated a narrow 4-3 victory at Drumlins Tennis Club.

The Raiders took an early 1-0 lead after doubles play. Colgate picked up a win on the No. 2 court to start things off, with Katerina Atallah and Emily Untermeyer taking down St. Bonaventure's Emily Stanley and Alexandra Jansson 6-1. The Bonnies then edged out the Raiders on the No. 3 court, with Colgate's pairing of seniors Elizabeth Laub and Ricki Lane falling to Amelia Haley and Paula Velilla 6-3. Attention then turned to the No. 1 court, where Colgate's Emme Levenson and Rebecca Wolf prevailed in a tiebreak over Anastasia Gubanova and Andrea Roque. 

Emily Untermeyer put Colgate's second point on the board with an efficient 6-2, 6-1 win over Stanley at No. 5 singles. Meanwhile, Emme Levenson gutted out a solid win for the Raiders on the No. 1 court, taking down Jansson 6-4, 6-2. But the Bonnies drew even by taking the No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6 matches. St. Bonaventure's Floor Lissone topped Wolf on the No. 3 court, 7-6 (1), 6-3, to claim victory for the Bonnies.

"Brutal ending to our senior day today. We knew it would be difficult playing against a solid, talented team without our No. 1 singles player Addie (Eklund). Despite that, the ladies were in the driver seat, winning the doubles point and Emme and Emily winning their singles matches to go up 3-0, before letting it slip away and losing 4-3. Credit to Laub, Lane, and Condas for their four years of loyalty and dedication."

Colgate (9-8, 2-1) will regroup quickly and face Lafayette for a pivotal Patriot League match-up Sunday at 12 p.m. in Easton, Pa.
