WASHINGTON D.C. – Olivia Lynch made her career-best 19th and final save with 16 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to secure Colgate's third straight victory.
The Raiders (5-11, 4-4 PL) outlasted host American (8-7,3-4 PL), 16-15, on Saturday afternoon at Jacobs Recreational Complex.
Colgate trailed American 14-13 with just under 10 minutes remaining in the game before the Raiders rattled off three straight goals that gave them the lead for good.
Lauren Marandett, Devon Maillet and Eliza Soutter contributed those three goals. For Maillet hers was her fourth that equalled her career-high that she set in Wednesday's win over Holy Cross.
Soutter's goal was also her fourth and set her career-high. The junior also assisted on a pair of Raiders' goals on Saturday.
Lynch who has started the last three games in goal for Colgate improved to 3-0.
Lucy Licata had three goals and one assist for Colgate and Cara O'Reilly added a pair of scores and collected 12 draw controls to give her 110 for the season.
The score was even 4-4 at the end of the first quarter and America held an 8-7 advantage at the half. Colgate outscored the Eagles 5-4 in the third quarter.
Colgate dominated the draw controls once again behind O'Reilly. The Raiders claimed 27 of the 35 draws for the afternoon.
American outshot Colgate, 34-25.
