WEST POINT, N.Y. – In as challenging a tune-up for the Patriot League Tournament as the Raiders could have asked for, the Colgate women's tennis team battled at all positions, ultimately falling to Army West Point 6-1 at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center Thursday afternoon.

The Cadets gained an early 1-0 advantage after sweeping the doubles matches. 

In singles play, Army took five out of six matches, all in straight sets. On the No. 5 court, Emily Untermeyer ran her winning streak to three with her defeat of Army's MaryJo Pidgeon in a 10-4 superbreaker.

"That was by far the toughest we've played Army in singles in years. We had a lot of sets at 4 all and Jordan, Kat, and Addie really battled. However, the game ball goes to U as she came back to win in three sets! I love our team, culture, and how hard these women play. Bring on Monmouth tomorrow."

UP NEXT
Colgate (10-9, 3-2) will host Monmouth on Friday at 2:30 p.m. to close out the regular season. The Patriot League Tournament is set to begin Thursday, April 21 in Bethlehem, Pa.
