BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Colgate didn't get the results they wanted on the final day of their Spring Break trip.
The Raiders (8-13) dropped the final game to Samford, 8-0, on Saturday afternoon at the SU Softball Stadium. .
Colgate's Morgan Farrah singled in the top of the first inning, but was stranded at first. Steph Jacoby doubled to lead off the second inning and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Rachel Carney, but the Raiders couldn't muster a run.
Samford posted three runs in the bottom of the first and that proved to be all the Bulldogs needed. They also sent two runs across in the third and put up three more runs in the fourth inning.
