Raiders' Comeback Effort Falls Short

Alexa Brodie led Colgate with 14 points

ANNAPOLISColgate's valiant comeback effort fell just short on Saturday afternoon.

The Raiders (6-22, 4-13 PL) trailed host Navy (8-19, 5-12 PL) by as much as 10 points in the first quarter, but Colgate made a game of it, only to fall 52-48 at Alumni Hall.

Navy built a 19-9 lead at the end of the first quarter of play, but the Raiders outscored the Mids 11-3 in the second quarter and made it just a two-point game, 22-20 at the break.

Navy scored the first three points of the second half and Colgate was never able to get closer than two points for the remainder of the contest.

Alexa Brodie led the Raiders with 14 points. Tiasia McMillan and Jenna Paul added eight points apiece in the loss. Taylor Langan pulled down a team-high eight rebounds to go with her six points.

Taylor Golembiewski dished out a team-high seven assists.

As a team, Colgate outrebounded Navy 43-36. The Raiders shot 35.2 percent from the floor and made four of 15 three-point attempts. The Mids shot 33.3 from the field and knocked down seven three pointers.

Navy was led by Kristina Donza's 19 points that included five three-pointers.
