Raiders Fall to Bison in Regular Season Finale

Morgan McMahon Pulls Down 17 Points in the Loss

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell (21-8, 12-6 PL) pulled ahead after a 12-4 run to end the first quarter and defeated Colgate (6-23, 4-14 PL) 91-59. Bucknell was hitting 72% from beyond the arc and scored 26 points from Colgate turnovers to lead the Bison to a decisive victory. Julie Kulesza scored 16 points to lead five Bison in double digits. Morgan McMahon scored 17 points and Taylor Golembiewski added 14 to lead the Raiders in scoring while Tiasia McMillan pulled down 10 rebounds for the night.

McMahon put the first two points of the game on the board to give Colgate the early lead. Bucknell tied it up until McMillan added her first jumper, followed by a Bucknell 3 pointer, and another jumper from McMillan. The lead continued to change hands the first half of the quarter on every play with  McMahon adding another jumper, followed by Golembiewski's first layup of the night and Jenna Paul's jumper that put the Raiders up 12-10.  Late in the quarter, the Bison took charge and went on a 12-4 run to end the quarter up 22-16. Golembiewski and Taylor Langan each added a basket during that run.

The start of the second quarter had the Bison go on a nine-point run before Alexa Naessens added a layup. Alexa Brodie added a basket and later made one of two free throws followed by a basket from Golembiewski. Colgate was only able to score seven points this quarter, while Bucknell increased its lead to 17 points at the half.

Third quarter action saw Golembiewski sink the first basket from beyond the arc for the Raiders to start off the scoring. Paul and McMahon each added a three but it wasn't enough to close the gap as they were falling on the other side of the scoreboard too. Sophia Diehl added her first basket of the game followed by Golembiewski splitting the shots from the stripe. Geddy Rerko contributed a layup and McMahon closed out the quarter with a jumper to head into the fourth down 63-39.

In the last stanza, Diehl went five for five from the free throw line and had a deuce for seven points in the quarter. McMahon added a jumper and two threes, Golembiewski put in a layup and the point after from the foul she drew, and went one for two on her other trip to the line, and Langan ended the scoring as she was one for two from the line. The Raiders were eight of ten from the foul line in the fourth quarter but unable to close the gap on the Bison.
